snowball cookies

Winter adds magic to kitchens everywhere with snowball cookies. These are the classic Christmas treats that melt in your mouth. They've been warming hearts during holiday baking for generations.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • Extra powdered sugar for coating

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Cream butter and initial powdered sugar until smooth
  3. Add vanilla and mix thoroughly
  4. Gradually blend in flour and salt
  5. Fold in chopped pecans
  6. Shape dough into 1-inch balls
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are light golden
  8. Cool for 5 minutes, then roll in powdered sugar
