Hamburger Potato Casserole

Hamburger Potato Casserole is a comforting, hearty dish that layers seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and creamy sauce into a one-dish meal.

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 large potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 can 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Brown ground beef in a skillet, add onion and garlic, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Combine cream of mushroom soup and milk in a bowl, whisking until smooth.
  • Layer half the potatoes, half the beef, and half the sauce in the baking dish. Repeat layers.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, top with cheese, and bake for another 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
