Hamburger Potato Casserole

Hamburger Potato Casserole is a comforting, hearty dish that layers seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and creamy sauce into a one-dish meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 large potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 can 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Aluminum foil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet, add onion and garlic, and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Combine cream of mushroom soup and milk in a bowl, whisking until smooth.
  4. Layer half the potatoes, half the beef, and half the sauce in the baking dish. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, top with cheese, and bake for another 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Let rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
